This article offers the latest on PFM's InnerChange Freedom Initiative in Iowa, about which I last blogged
here and
here. Thanks to the district court ruling, under appeal with a decision to come soon, the state of Iowa has decided to cut funding to the prison program. PFM hopes to raise private funds to compensate; this would be less problematical, of course, though I'm still hopeful about a more reasonable decision from the Appeals Court.
Here's more.
What's clear is that Democrats have set their sights on this program, which doesn't bode well for government cooperation with faith-based groups across the country, should 2008 prove to be a bad year for Republicans.
